The room here was spacious and comfy, had air conditioning, balconies, and even a sofa near the entrance. Plus, we were able to check in super early! 🌞

Above all, what I would value most is the value for money. Location, this is a factor that depends on the reason for the trip to Madrid, so it is personal and should not be valued for the score. Everyone can see on the map where the hotel they choose is located and decide according to their interests. In my case I chose it because of its proximity to the Teatro Real. room was quiet, interior, end of the corridor. However, at night you could hear from the corridor the laughter of people arriving late (there are always rude customers). Good lighting in the room. comfortable bed and pillows.
I was very annoyed by the strong smell of air freshener when I entered the room. This is a habit that is becoming more and more frequent in many hotels in Madrid and which I find in very bad taste, unpleasant. I had to keep the window open for at least an hour to neutralize the strong smell. The method of heating in the room: heater, with electrical operation, therefore it is disconnected when you leave the room, and always reach the room cold . This would not be the case if heating with a radiator. On the other hand, the heater is somewhat noisy (tolerable).

Hotel is great! location is ideal, to Grand Via 5 min, to the Royal Palace 3 min, to the Prado Museum and Plaza Cibeles -15 min, Plaza Mayor 10 min. location of the hotel is completely taxi free. room is clean, zoned (which is very comfortable, mini living room with sofa and TV, a bedroom with a bed and TV), small bolkonchiki, close the shutters at night, you can not hear the noise from the street... There is plenty of room (we had 21 sqm), clean venue, clean. Room bathrobe, slippers, kettle, tea, dishes... all the way down to a needle with a thread (on the safe). Good breakfast, not a "horn of plenty", you can have breakfast (scrambled eggs, fruit, yogurt and fresh vyzhvyzh. juice, cheese / ham/... Across the street a great big supermarket with baked goods and other products and household chemicals. staff at the reception is kind. We would have stopped again without thinking. By the way, I recommend ordering a taxi to the airport at Recepe (fixed price 30 euros)... uber = 60-70 euros. Have a good rest)
The maid didn't wash the dishes... left 2 euros on the trail for the day-situation was fixed. It's a trifle, no serious flaws found.

The location of Hotel Meninas was perfect.
Their cancellation policy read 24 hours notice, but when I tried to cancel for one night within a 24 hour time frame, they would not let me because the hotel was full.I Could not find that policy stated anywhere and this reflected negatively on my impression of the hotel.

Lovely views, loved comfortable setting.
It was a brilliant stay, newly renovated place. The breakfast was nice hot and included. There was free Wi-Fi throughout the property and the service in general was excellent! It was so sweet to get concierge service free of charge too.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
